Morning Report Excerpts
The United States is blessed by an extensive network of National Parks. The Morning Report goes out each morning recording significant events within the park system. In this case, events are mainly law enforcement activities, deaths and rescues. Not many of these events have much to do with canyoneering, but they do give a rather interesting view of the Park System - and what our friends the rangers get to do just to keep things moderately under control.
The morningreport is available at www.nps.gov/morningreport.
I have excerpted some of the more interesting items from the morningreport and listed them here. You will notice that my taste runs toward the bizarre. I have excerpted all items related to canyoneering, plus many related to climbing, avalanches, utah, and civil rights, plus anything I found particularly interesting. Because the lists of bizarre incidents are pretty long, I've also pulled out the few actual canyoneering items separately. Enjoy.
