Kolob, Imlay and a few Pics - June 2004
Went down to Zion for a slow trip through Kolob and Imlay. This was a four photographer gig, with Chris Avery shooting the most square inches of film, Lin Alder shooting the most images, and... Well, we all get what we get. My best shots are below.

Our protagonist - Chris Avery, sweating it up on the approach to Imlay. There are few people strong enough to carry 30 lbs of camera gear in addition to their share - but Chris can and smile the whole day.

And our hired Sherpa, Tom Wetherell from Tucson probably got the best photos of the trip with his nice little digital camera.

And into Kolob. Was running at 3 cfs, a pleasant trickle. Here's the first Waterfall in Kolob Creek

A fuzzy picture of an interesting anchor. Five bolts, couple of them really ancient. Interesting way to backup with the spectra sling and biner...

Kolob is all bolted up, originally by Dennis Turville in the 70's, but there are quite a few generations of bolts in this canyon. Some scary, some pretty solid.
