I did quite a bit of backpacking this year, and, unfortunately, ate quite a few freeze-dried meals. Most of them are not too hot, but a couple turned out to be palatable, especially when hungry. Therefore, I have started carrying just a couple of the better meals. Each envelope is "Two Servings", which we generally find about right for ONE hungry full-sized male canyoneer. Pour boling water in the foil pouch, stir, let sit. Eat.
