This chart shows the number of permits that were issued each year for each canyon, for the last five years. Permit counts for the last few canyons were only compiled for the last two years.

Counts for the first year may not be accurate, as it was the first year the permit system was in effect, and complete compliance was not achieved.

The Park has expressed a concern that technical canyon use is growing rapidly, while noting that growth of the Subway and Narrows (and for that matter, overnight, trail-backpacking usage) has leveled off.
