Family Adventure through Pine Creek Canyon, Zion National Park, UT

Joined on this day by Ken Stone and his daughters Erica and Kelsey, we ventured into Zion's popular Pine Creek Canyon. Recent Monsoon activity had left the canyon totally topped off with water - wet and cold. In fact, with a fully swimmer pothole before the first drop.

Ken and Erica get their wetsuits on in anticipation of a cold day in Pine Creek. C’mon Ken, get with the program.

Who knew putting on wetsuits could be so much fun? Josh, Matt, Brenda and Alicia gear up for the first swim.
Unfortunately, because the canyon was very wet, very cold, and very dark; and I was in a big hurry to get everyone through (excuses all), I did not get any pictures in the actual technical slot part of the canyon. But…

Josh and Matt pass out in the warm sand to recover from the frigid canyon.

A little warm sun, and the smiles return.

Scrambling down lower Pine Creek Canyon was somewhat of a tribulation. Here Ken assists Erica across a pothole.

Found a nice moth, along with many frogs.

Working down more boulders and stuff in lower Pine Creek Canyon.

Kelsey works her way down a boulder.
