NEW PRODUCT: Heaps Special "Seco" Rope Bag for 300 foot rope
Introducing the first of several simpler rope bags for when Less is More.
Our regular rope bags are designed to maximize their functionality as rope bags. They float, are fairly easy to stuff, have straps and all, have decent drainage, all that. The new “SECO” line is for doing canyons where flotation is not required but a lighter weight and bulk would be desirable.
The Heaps Special Bag is designed for carrying a 300’er through Heaps, in a drybag. While still having a usable bag for A. Rappelling with the bag on the second rappel; and B. Deploying the rope on the final rappel. Between those two events, the rope is carried carefully sealed in a drybag by the strongest member of the team.
This Bag is sized and shaped to fit in a 25L or 24L drybag. The model drybag for that is the Peregrine 24L Dry Sack, which I am now stocking at the CUSA store. It has just enough features: A #4 Grommet and a tie loop at the bottom, so the lower end of the rope can be tied in and easily verified. Two big handles at the top for carrying and clipping to the harness. An inside tie loop that also works well for hanging the bag off your harness for stuffing. A drawcord top. The fabric is 500d Cordura - lightweight but durable enough.
As it happens, the shape is also pretty good for carrying the big cord across the top of a pack, or stuffed down inside.
Made in the USA, which allows us to make this specialty product in small quantities.
